Project Overview
The Midnight Case is a graphic novel sequence showcasing my ability to maintain character consistency and tell compelling stories through sequential panels. This three-page spread demonstrates a full narrative arc—from high-action supernatural encounters to dialogue-heavy character exposition and atmospheric disaster scenes.
Sequential Storytelling
Each page is carefully designed to move the reader's eye fluently through complex panel layouts. The pacing shifts between moments of tension and calm, using visual rhythm to control the narrative flow and emotional beats.
Dynamic Lighting & Atmosphere
Light sources play a crucial role in setting mood and drama throughout the sequence. From the eerie glow of moonlight in the cemetery scene to the harsh glare of headlights and the fiery chaos of the disaster sequence—each lighting scenario was crafted to enhance the storytelling.
Technical Execution
The project showcases professional lettering and speech bubble placement that complements rather than obscures the artwork. Complex perspective work—from graveyard environments to car interiors and urban destruction—demonstrates versatility in handling varied settings.
